Three times must be a charm for the Biery Cheese Co. At this year's World Championship Cheese Contest, Sponsered by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), they were awarded two gold medals and one bronze. The gold medals were given for Biery Hot Pepper and Biery White American and the bronze for Biery Cheddar and Horseradish. With these three medals, the Biery Cheese Co. has accumulated 5 medals in the last 2 years and 15 medals in the last 10 years.
At the event, there was a record 1,312 entries from 19 nations. 2002 was the previous record with 1,144 entries, With 40 classes of cheese and butter, every manufacturer competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals and the right to be crowned the world's best cheese. There were 511 entries from other countries and 801 entries form the United States.
